5. AeroTel-Link Mode (Ground Unit)

  • Protocol: AeroTel-Link (Connectionless Broadcast)

  • Encryption: AES-256 GCMarrow-up-right

Requirement: You need two AeroTel-24 modules.

  • Air Unit: Set to WiFi Access Point LR Mode.

  • Ground Unit: Set to WiFi Client Mode.

  • USB-TTL converter for Ground Unit.

This is the counterpart to the Air Unit mode.

  • Configuration: Set the module connected to your GCS (via USB/UART) to AeroTel-Link GND.

  • Behavior: It acts as a receiver for the Air Unit. It picks up the encrypted broadcast packets, decrypts them, and forwards the clean telemetry data to your GCS software.

  • Use Case: The ground-side receiver for long-range missions.
