Firmware Update (OTA)
The AeroTel-24 supports Over-The-Air (OTA) updates, allowing you to flash new firmware directly via the web interface without needing a USB cable or external programmer. This is the recommended method for applying bug fixes, performance improvements, and new features.
Important: Please update the firmware only when a new version is available. If your device is functioning correctly and no new features are required, we recommend staying on the current stable version.

Prerequisites
AeroTel-24 Module powered on.
Wi-Fi Connection established between your computer/phone and the AeroTel-24.
Latest Firmware File: Ensure you have the latest
aerotel.binfile downloaded.
Warning: Do not power off the device during the update process. Doing so may corrupt the firmware and require a hard flash via USB to recover.
Update Procedure
1. Access the Web Interface Connect to the AeroTel-24 Wi-Fi network (Password is usually aerotel24 unless changed). Open your web browser and navigate to the gateway address (default: 192.168.1.1).
2. Locate the Update Section Navigate to the Settings where the Firmware Update (OTA) panel is located.
3. Select Firmware File
Click the Choose File (or "Browse") button.
In the file dialog that appears, locate and select the
.binfirmware file you downloaded earlier.Verify the filename next to the button changes from "No file chosen" to aerotel.bin.
4. Start the Update by clicking the red UPLOAD & UPDATE button.
During Upload: The browser status bar may show an upload percentage.
Processing: Once the upload finishes, the device will verify the file and flash it to memory. This may take 15–30 seconds.
5. Completion & Reboot Upon a successful update, the device will automatically reboot.
You may lose Wi-Fi connectivity briefly.
Reconnect to the Wi-Fi network once it reappears.
Reload the web interface to verify the new version is active.
Troubleshooting
"Update Failed" Error: This usually happens if the Wi-Fi signal is weak or the file is corrupted. Move closer to the device and try downloading the firmware file again.
Device not rebooting: If the device does not come back online after 2 minutes, power cycle it manually (unplug and replug power).
Wrong File Type: Ensure you are uploading a
.binfile. Zip files or source code archives will not work.
